Technical Assistance
Our projects
We help state administrators understand how their programs affect the older adults they serve.
Policymakers and state officials tasked with developing and administering programs for older people and caregivers need to know if they are having the intended impact. Yet they may not always have the expertise to evaluate and report on those programs. Understanding the costs, benefits, and impact of services and programs is vital to the financial stewardship of the public funding that supports them.
— We provide annual, biennial, and quadrennial reports on long term services and supports administered by the Maine Office of Aging and Disability Services. Tracking how many people are served, client characteristics by program, and program expenditures helps administrators and policymakers understand how the continuum of care meets the needs of the people it serves.
— Annual reports on Maine Adult Protective Services (APS) help identify trends in elder abuse reporting and APS operations statewide. See our most recent report on the OADS website.
— The evaluation of the two-year Respite for ME Grants pilot program showed that respite care that includes non-traditional services such as chore services, self-care, and durable medical equipment has an impact on caregiver burden and stress. Read the final evaluation report here.
